| Kyros said: Funny how in Australia the Wii is $400 and is still selling out and completly blowing away the competition. In Australia EVERYTHING is more expensive. That's called purchasing power parity. The Wii is not more expensive compared to the other consoles in Australia than in America. And thats what is important. |
Perhaps, but tangentially speaking, if Pachter is to believed, shouldn't Nintendo be flooding Australia with all the latest games and the highest number of consoles? I mean, on a per-dollar basis, they make more for everything they sell there than they sell in the U.S., so why would they not be sending more down under if their motivation is to maximize the exchange rate value? And yet Australia et. al. continue to be neglected.
Note that I don't intend to attack you or your views here; I'm simply trying to point out another way in which the article's claims and logic contradicts reality, and you were the most convenient way to do so.
