You have to give Sony props for this. PS1 and PS2 laid the groundwork for the growth of much of the European market in the same way NES laid the groundwork in the Americas and Japan.
Wii bolsters the regular gaming population growth by bringing in new demographics. But I think Sony is more aggressive in developing markets in Europe, which is why Wii and PS3 are likely to end up most evenly competitive in Europe of the three major regions.
People are difficult to govern because they have too much knowledge.
