@theprof: You apparently don't understand what Nintendo is all about. Granted that they have been very lucrative for the last 30 years, but they still do the exact same as 100 years ago; provide entertainment. Look, they are not the guy who makes theaters, they're Hollywood and always have been. What the past has taught them, is how to survive the bad times and manage their business. By making their own software and hardware, they're (nearly) protected from an industrywide crash, while Sony and M$ would do the Atari (with SMB supershow tune). They've been here for so long and experienced enough recessions, that they do know how to deal when the bad times come.
