No people are just using their common sense. Nintendo was the biggest thing in Japan up until the PS1 launched and Sony proceeded to own Nintendo for the next 12 years. Sony screwed up, misjudged the market, and with the PSP/PS3 they have no chance of recovery. If they take what they've learned this generation and apply to the PS4 and PSP2 things could be completely different however.
