LordTheNightKnight said: I would buy a Gears game with that control, but as it's likely staying exclusive, that's a moot point. But I might buy a game like that on the Wii.
But users here are still not proof, which is my point. |
Hypothetically speaking the Wii mote couldnt control all of the gameplay aspects of Gears.
|
Actually it could.
Gears doesn't even use all of the buttons on the Xbox360.
I see absolutely no reason why the Wii mote + Nunchuck would be insufficient for a GOW type game.

\ XBOX 360 Controls \
Aim - Left Trigger Shoot - Right Trigger Reload - Right Bumper Zoom - Right Analog Stick Melee - B Button Change Weapons - Directional Pad
TAC/COM - Left Bumper Quick Look - Y Button
Strafe - Left and Right on the Left Analog Stick Move - Up and Down on the Left Analog Stick Look - Right Analog Stick Interact/Pick Up - X Button Dive/Cover/Run - A Button
Nope. Cant even be done with the Wii mote and the nunchuck.

NC is Nunchuck, WM is Wii Remote
Aim - NC Trigger Shoot - WM Trigger Reload - Shake, or auto reload Zoom - (I'm guessing while aiming) WM pointer Melee - A button Change Weapons - Directional Pad Left Right
(....You're right...that would work....with an FPS. Even then it still wouldnt be fluid)
TAC/COM - C button (NC Bumper) Quick Look - Tilt WM while in cover
Strafe - Left and Right on the NC Analog Stick Move - Up and Down on the NC Analog Stick Look - WM Pointer Interact/Pick Up - (Not in cover) Directional Pad Up or 1 or 2. (The directional Pad for a pickup? find a button or else leave it alone) Dive/Cover/Run - Directional Pad Down (Are you kidding me?)
Not to mention that the pointer allows you to put weapon select and items on the screen optionally. Along with picking up items.
Edit: LOL, they just put upscaled screen shots of Black up... Thanks guys I needed to laugh.
You want to show a game that looks better than SMG? Always use Chronicles of Riddick. Haven't you read the fan boy handbook?

Apperantly you haven't played any Wii FPS. The controls are not the bad part... heck read some of the reviews from the same people who gave Gears 10's.
But my point isn't the Wii is good at FPS, I don't even want them. I am just showing you that you are wrong.
Epic is right. Nobody really wants any games from them except Gears on any console. Unreal has been the same 2 million people buying the updates for years - which is a feat in itself for having such a good following.

Of course i've played a Wii FPS, but what I stated was...Gears isn't an FPS and it was all for naught. I've played Red Steel (Sucked) Resident Evil (pretty good), Metroid 3 (Whatever). To play Gears correctly in a fluid manner it demands a controller or a keyboard, but even then id still recommend a controller. The Wii is amazing, but I do not favor it in the least for Shooters. Unless its house of the dead remakes from Sega (WHICH WAS AWESOME BY THE WAY!!) it isnt worth it IMHO.
