Actually your question gives answer to itself. When you up the production, you need to replan your logistics. Since the new logistics model is seen in stores on a month delay, there's going to be chokes from time to time in the supply chain before the new model takes effect. Expect 400k in the Americas next week or the week after.
Also, what someone said, that retailers may start stockpiling for christmas to make sure, that customers visit their store during the period, when everything sells like crazy. But i'd find the supply choking before it goes up being the most plausible reason.
