| kjj4t9rdad said: Your points are not very well thought out. 1st, I am a parent and I care about HDD and so does my 8 year old. I am a parent too. I have two children - what in the devil are you trying to say? Spit that crap out!!!! 2nd, arcade rumored price $199, recharge pack $15, 20 gig add on HD (needed to update the system firmware, PRETTY IMPORTANT!!!) $100 or 512mb memory card(won't let you update system) $50, Wireless adapter $100, HDMI conversion kit $90 that's a total of $454 for memory card or $504 for the HDD and no ability to watch HD movies For the love of God. Why do I need any of that crap to game? Let's look at this from J6P. "I can get a console that plays the Halo for $199. What? I can play current games for just $199? Do I have to buy a controller? Everything I need is in the box - AND I have 5 games to start off my collection!' You and every PS3bot I know mention that additional crap to justify your $599 purchase. Get a grip. No one is shoving jack down my throat. You may fall for that crap, but me and several gamers aren't. 40gig PS3 $400 80gig w/MGS4 $500 What else do I get? Oh, an HD console without an HDMI cable. Sony thinks so much of you that you can buy a Blu Ray player and can't spring for a freaking HDMI cable or any HD cables. Thank the maker I have a PS2 with component or I'd be suck in 480 land. Oh yeah - I get a console with a fledgling lineup of games and tons of potential. Potential SUCKS. Gimme a system with sick games NOW. I prefer the 360 because it has games for anyone. You like trivia? Get SceneIt. You love FPS? Halo 3, Gears, Bioshock. You love RPGs? Tons o them. You want a sweet driving game that costs the same as the glorified GT5 demo? Test Drive Unlimited for open spaces ... and Forza 2 for some cool driving fun or Project Gotham Racing for a mix of both. You want to chat with your peeps on MSN? You want to download movies, videos or watch your Netflix instant movies? Your right about the PS3 not coming with an HDMI cord, however the only 360 w/ a HDMI port is the Premier (not very next-gen) If you read the post, I said to get a 360 to do what a PS3 does off the shelf. WRONG. The *worthless* Arcades - the lowly of the 360 has an HDMI port. You really need to get out more. Also, an update enabled 1080p on all 360s. 3rd, Since I've had my PS3 for over a year and a half, and the PS3 failure rate is below 1%, I don't worry about it breaking after 1 year, in fact I don't worry about it at all. in contrast the 360 has somewhere between 25% & 35% percent failure rate. These include power cord problems, the "ring of death", overheating problems, and it scratches disks. Listen to the propaganda, why don't you. Source, please. Otherwise, save that crap for SDF. and last, Microsoft still counts the replacement 360's as shipped 360's. So in other words, the 20million sold includes all the returned 360's. Also Microsoft offers a FREE 3 month subscription to LIVE which I do believe includes some sort of free game download. That is a pretty good incentive to at least try it out. It just seems funny that the number of failures is pretty close to the number non-LiVE users. Even if the price is $6/month for LIVE $6 x 12months x 7years = $504 Once again, it's a choice. And guess what? I've paid for LIVE since the good ol' days on my Xbox. I have a PS3 and here's what I think about it - it's an awesome console but Sony pimped out the PS brand to push it as a Blu Ray player. It can do a lot of things right, but the insane viewpoints you and several others have about the console are bordering on outright lunacy and you are scaring many potential buyers off. If you need sources: prices are from best buy.com, as far as failure rates, just google it, you will have a multitude of sources confirming my statements You should check it out and decide for yourself Yeah, everything on the Internet is to be taken as the Gospel. /PHAIL
