Well, I would like to start reading some of my poetry right now, but I guess I'll bore you with the obviousness of these charts.
MGS4 out of the top 30. That's probably because it was a hardcore game, not an evergreen.
The DS and PSP are performing well this week.
Dragonquest is epic, as always.
Warioland had decent legs, honestly.
PSO did great. The Dreamcast version was my favorite game on the console. I wonder why they downgraded though, from Monster Hunter? It appears a large portion of the MH fanbase were PSO fans from the start. This genre is the reason the PSP is flourishing in Japan.
Wii-Fit godly.
Fatal Frame IV sold exactly as predicted.
ToS2 sales prove nothing, and probably met expectations. Still it is dissapointing to not see it sell better than expected.
Soulcalibur IV sales for PS3 are at or slighly under expectations. I expect this is because the Tales crowd was looking for software for their new 360's, as 360 SCIV sales much higher than anticipated, and a boon for the console.
PS3 and 360 HW are both terrible. However, the 360 has nothing to be ashamed of, considering its past performance. PS3 just goes to show, evergreens matter in Japan. You need a game that keeps people buying, that keeps them wanting a PS3. Like you do with your PSP. The problem is that PSP game was 3rd party. I don't think Sony was expecting it. They need to copy Nintendo in Japan, honestly, with the PS3. Slim PS3 would be great.
The Wii is rock solid, while the PSP and the DS are having a little tiff at the moment. I expect DS sales to level off(decrease and hover) while PSP sales stay around their current position.
As for the Sony fans who like to jump on these topics every week and yell "Yay for the PSP," I've really got no problem with that. It's doing great in Japan. Congratulations. However, remember, and you've been really good about this, don't try to spin PSP Japanese sales as a negative DS story in your posts here. It won't end well for anyone.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
