How hard is Zelda II: The Adventure of Link?

wow, I don't recall using a map or guide. You all suck.

I haven't replayed it since I was a lad, but it was harder than some other games. But, when you grew up pre-internet and had parents who refused to buy Nintendo Power, you just played over and over again.
