@Q_A_X: Nintendo isn't screwing around, in fact those Gyroscopes were too expensive when the Wii got launched.
The Wii has had motion controls since launch, but not 1:1 3D motion controls since accelerometers alone can't give you accurate rotation and thrust sensing simultaneously.
