Is anyone claiming that the Sega Genesis had a larger number of AAA(or any classification, really) games than the SNES?
I believe that if such a claim exists then there must also still be opinions in this world that state the Earth is flat, the sky is green, and due to a time paradox, the christian Bible has actually yet to be written.
I don't believe the DS is as good as the SNES, no. The SNES is widely regarded as the best console ever created. The Genesis, while a great console, is not known as a particularly gameheavy console and in fact, with the magic of emulators, I can safely say there are WAYYYYY less great/classic games on the Genesis than there are on the SNES. This is simply due to a lack of third party support(as the genesis first party games are excellent).
Sega certainly had some of the best games, but they also had very few good games, relatively. Especially when you compare it to the SNES which had full Square-Enix support. The SNES' library was astounding.
That said, let me rephrase myself:
Not owning a DS now and pretending to be a hardcore gaming journalist, is like not owning a SNES during the 16-bit era and pretending to be a hardcore gaming journalist.
I think that should quell any uprisings that my Genesis hate may have caused. I actually owned a Genesis and a 32x, just FYI. I bet I'm the only one here who owned that piece of garbage.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
