It seems the japanese have gone wild over the Wii. I think the PS3 will, as Sony knows it's own market and I'm sure will know how to cater and advertise to Japan, where as MS have alot to learn in Japan. I'm not worried about Sony in Japan, they'll pull thru, Atleast they are a miliion now, prolly 2 more yrs and MS can get there :P |
I doubt it. The PS3 is doing worse in Japan that it is in any other territory. The PS3 can be bought for just over $400 in Japan. They taking the biggest hardware loss in what was their second most dominant region. Worse yet, they aren't getting much in the way of sofware sales either. The PS3 has more of a chance of being proftible in the Europe/PAL region. With the much higher prices in the EU, Sony was most likely breaking even or making a small profit off the PS3 at launch. This greatly contrasts with the situation in Japan. They took the heaviest losses and they have the smallest user base, the PS3 is peforming better in the US and Europe, to pull software revenue from.
