I feel you. I'm actually pretty optimistic on this front, to be honest. True, third-party efforts for the Wii aren't on par with those of the HD consoles yet, but it's improved radically since the Wii's release. I can actually name several third party titles I'm looking forward to, and it appears that Japan, EA and Activision are all starting to really take the console seriously (exclusive games and non-gimped HD ports for starters).
I've always thought the Wii would follow the DS when it came to development: the first two years would be shovelware or cheap cash-ins, as the system's success was initially completely unforeseen and developers were unsure how to wrap their heads around the unorthodox control scheme. After that, the quality games start rolling in. I'd add a year to that cycle for the Wii, due to the much longer development time requirements, but so far my prediction (hope?) seems to be bearing out. Hopefully then, we'll finally be reaping the fruits next year.
