We've gotten more traditional games out of Nintendo on the Wii than we got on the Gamecube at the same period from launch.

True. Nintendo fired out of every barrel in its first 15 months. But this doesn't change the fact that the 6-9 months will be thin for fans of classic games (Unless there are some new surprise announcements). I think its just fair to criticize Nintendo for this. The Delaystation was criticized for its first year without any games as well.
On the other consoles third-party devs jump to the rescue but these also have the casual gamer in their target on the Wii.

Considering Nintendo's new announcement strategy, and the fact that they listed Kirby for an '08 release, it's possible they still have another game or two to announce. I doubt it, since they have one Wii game a month coming out for the rest of the year, but it's possible. Even if it isn't, though, they're still bringing Fatal Frame IV over this year, as well as Wario Land, and third-party offerings on the system are actually pretty strong. I'll freely grant that there's no Mario-esque game there (although Animal Crossing is going to be huge in itself), but from where I'm sitting there's still more games coming out than I can afford to buy.
