Wiiconnect24 overheating and damaging Wii GPU

I always keep my Wii on Wiiconnect24, I've only had it connected for a week though but sometimes when I leave a program to go to the menu-during that sequence I see alot of red pixels flustering around the screen, it's a little worrying.
