Notice how big it is in comparison to the USB connector? I think the image from the article was just a bad perspective that made it seem a bit bigger than it is.
If that isn't the case and it is way too big for your sensor bar then I highly recommend some double sided tape. In fact this is how my sensor bar is currently attached to my television. It holds it on there nice and snug without ever sliding, tilting, or falling off.
