@ c0rd

I'm sorry, but your post is full of fail. There is absolutely NOTHING sci-fi about Xenogears in the beginning. In fact, the only thing sci-fi about Xenogears is the gears, but that still doesn't come close to the sci-fi you would find in games like Star Ocean, Xenosaga or Mass Effect.

Chrono Trigger was a dream project melding the creators of Dragon Quest with the creators of Final Fantasy to make one of the best and most innovative JRPGs ever made. Full of fun characters, combination attacks, tons of extra content and one of the better stories to ever be found in a JRPG yet.

Final Fantasy VII was the next Final Fantasy which utilized many ideas that had already been used in RPGs before into a 3D world full of CGI and tons of marketing backing it. In the end however, its gameplay was still similar to previous games and its story was rather incomplete (if not confusing and convoluted).

One of these was much more impacting and a much better game.

This.

Odd. Future. Wolf. Gang. Kill. Em. All. OFWGKTA Don't give a fuck!

Fuck Steve Harvey. FREE EARL!

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the GREATEST game EVER made!!!

I'd take a bullet for Square-Enix!

Talk about tough choices :P!

I had to go FFVII, as it is my all-time favorite game... second is Dragon Quest IV... then Chrono Trigger in third (tied with Dragon Quest VI). Considering all of the mounds of games I have played, a pretty impressive feat.

Ironically, it is second only to my two favorite games from each of the series that bore Chrono Trigger. Hmm... I wonder why I never got around to playing Chrono Cross... Must be too busy loving Dragon Quest to death :D

My only question is:  how many people voted Chrono Trigger out of unfounded biases against FFVII, hmm :)?

Chrono Trigger by far.

FF7 is my least favorite FF and, imho, Crisis Core was better (but still not great).

Pfft, I don't take any notice of poll results! (unless I agree with them )

Anyway. It's gotta be FF7, although Chrono Trigger is the best RPG on the SNES.

I actually think that Chrono Trigger's battle system is more fun in some ways and it has better side-quests, but FF7 wins for characters, storyline, atmosphere and soundtrack (yes, I said that! )

Didn't Chrono Cross outdo Trigger? I'm suprised sincee the story, battle system and artistic deesign in Cross are FAR superior.

Oh, and not-related sequel? Did you even play Cross?

Anyway I voted for FF7, I liked the setting and atmosphere much much more.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

Cross is not a sequel. It's a paralel dimension (so you can have some characters and references from Trigger appearing in Cross but not the same storyline and not a sequel). Cross is more like a spin-off/side story just like Radical Dreams.

Also, Cross bored the hell out of me (and I finished this game), so no, it doesn't have a better storyline, battle system and artistic design for me (purely a matter of opinion).

Cross isn't only in a paralel dimension, it is in the original dimension of trigger + a paralel dimension.

Also, it's obviously a matter of opinion, I was criticizing the OP for stating that Cross was a disappointment like it is some sort of fact.

I don't think i could answer this fairly. Both are great.
