Forums - Sales Discussion - Holy Hell hardware adjustments!

This is the opposite of last year for the Wii.

Last year, it seemed like the Wii numbers got adjusted downards for weeks. Now it didn't get adjusted and stayed strong during Christmas.

BTW: If you want to moan about adjustments, then leave VGC. Feel free to go to NeoGAF or other sites that have NPD top 10 numbers and stop complaining. This is the only site that tracks data and you know it. Either leave, or stop complaining. You have no idea what it takes to track this data, and I'd advise any member that really wants to attack Brett and the rest of the VGC staff to contribute in some way to do better. Either put up, or shut up, because trashing VGC does nothing.

By the way, if you really want legitimate numbers, they are $4,000 a month. Do you want to pay $4,000 a month for them?

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

7 million PSPs on shelves is odd

Sony reported 60.30M psp's sold as of DEC 31 didn't they?

There are apparently over 6 million PS2's on shelf according to VG Chartz.

To be fair the people crying the most are probably not a loss to the site, the Microsoft forums will certainly be a nicer place to post if they leave. Adjustments should always be welcomed, whether your like them or not, I'd rather have more accurate figures than argue based on inaccurate ones personally.

I love how when the Wii gets adjusted down people go: I new it couldnt sell that well good for VGC correcting the numbers.

and now that it happens to the twins its: VGC is unrealiable you cant trust the numbers.

LOL

Be happy that we got more correct numbers instead of complaining.

So I'm not the only one noticing this

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

It's easy to criticize. Not so easy to do the work yourself. Keep that in mind bitches.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

PSP actually makes sense, considering all those revisions, being replaced by other models.

Fanboy meltdown on VGC. Damage control by some fans. But will there be more sales adjustments made?

Yes, there are fanboy meltdowns. But it's much more than that! It's about reliability of VGC data now. 2mil 360's in shelves?? Is that normal? Ps3 overtracked by 1.1mil despite Sony seeming to be amazingly happy with sales? If you look closely, most data was adjusted from "Others" region. Which, if you think about it, is the one region where VGC really doesn't have a larger organization to compare its data with (as  far as I know). For example, when NPD and MediaCreate usually release their data, VGC adjusts accordingly if they have to. But in Others region, VGC does not have that. So basically, from what I can see, Others region is pure guesswork?? I'm confused.

actually we really dont compare our numbers to other sources inorder to adjust our data. the monthly NPD article and japanese sales article is a way to display our accuracy versus a company that has a way higher percentage of market coverage then us. we just have some sources that doesnt come in on a weekly or bi-weekly bases. Its a matter of our sources on how our estimates are.

I'm sorry, but I am not buying this. I love VGC, and will continue to come here because I love the community. But c'mon! The entire thread apparently came to the conclusion that VGC adjusted because of Nintendo's graph... How cna you say we don't adjust accordingly when bigger firms provide numbers? I'm not saying VGC doesn't have sources and such, but we DO adjust accordingly when bigger firms with more sources adjust. You can't possibly deny this!

oh wow....
