Check out the hair demo, it's so pretty.

Oh wow that is pretty

That's the one problem I always had with video games is hair, it's finally approaching real life :)

Now why would anyone that has a GTX295 want to upgrade to this card? Anyone being me...

I think each hair is a single entity just like in Flowers for the PS3 where every string of grass is seperate entity. That's what I got from the hair demo, I could be wrong.

At some point, something must have come from nothing...

...nothing can come from nothing...

0.2 fps and 0.6 fps three times better. Ray tracing is a long ways off.

EMULATION is the past.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Rendering the hair on a single person runs at 26 FPS. Let that sink in. Ray tracing won't happen for a long long period of time.

I will. And maybe even two of them :3

Those demos are the very opposite of real-world applications.

Maybe in 2 or 3 gens games will actually be able to do similar stuff.

Too many people don't understand the idea of tech demos :\

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

There are many ways of doing tech demos. GPU makers tend to show extreme cases which will never be seen by anyone using their products.

And now the counterpoint:

We'll find out in March who's right.
