If sonic became an exclusive brand for either the ps3, wii or 360, and the games started to be fun again (like the genesis sonics) would it push hardware?

it used to be a huge american gaming icon, 4.52 million (sonic the hedgehog 2)

so if it were a ps3 exclusive do you think it would help move ps3s? same with 360 or wii.

i think it could, espically if it goes to the ps3 because currently the ps3 has no games to rival mario. ratchet and clank series ended (doubt they will make more) and the xbox has banjo (it still counts :P)  

I think the main problem with Sonic games is that try to be innovative and fail with it(Werehog in Sonic Unleashed).

Only if the quality came back to the series would the franchise be a hardware booster. I personally enjoyed Sonic Unleashed a lot though! With Mario games you have the main series platforming and you have spin-offs the difference between Mario, Sonic and Banjo is that Mario still sticks with its roots while getting different kind of games. Something both Sonic and Banjo franchise aren't doing~~

As for Banjo Rare got way ahead of themselves. They tried making Banjo and Kazooie into something it isn't. I loved Nuts and Bolts but for all I care they could have called it Captain Obvious and its new Mobile. The game is quite hardcore though something I didn't expect from it:P

Well wii got 2 excuesive sonic titles and neitheir of them did anything. So I'll vote no

take sonic, put false 3D (ala SFIV), add full speed gameplay = BIG HIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Capcom got it right with SFIV : if it is 2D then keep it 2D.

Question is. What would happen if Sonic returned to 2D and became a Wii exclusive?

2D Sonic + 2D Mario = ???

Keeping it 2D really is the key. But classic Sonic is more than just speed, it's about atmosphere, beautiful green first levels (With a checkerboard pattern or a triangle pattern!), precise platforming, exploration (S3&K, Sonic CD), action and speed.

^^ nice idea, I'd love project needlemouse to turn out like that! (false 3D or 2.5D) :D

OT: i think if Sonic was exclusive a particular console it would increase my intrest in that console. not by that much mind you, but if enough exclusive titles gather enough of your intrest you end up buying that console.
