Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Epic Mickey 2.5M LTD?

DO you guys think Epic Mickey can pull 2.5M LTD? I mean it seems like a game that could appeal to everyone, by one of the most revered designers in the industry. I am thinking it will do that or more. Disney is definitely going to market the hell out of it so I see that plus the quality of the game leading to serious $$$.

I'm sadly seeing this only getting 700K...I really hope I'm wrong..

Former something....

I really dont know about this one, it could be either a really good seller , or just an average one.

I think it will be better to start predicting once we know more about the game and see some screens etc. etc.

It depends on how they market it. Go for the KH fanbase and you've got a slam dunk.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

depends how epic it is.

Still game has no correlation to KH which is a JRPG. This won't appeal to that crowd.

Frankly, at this point I have no idea who they are making this game for. Mickey alone will seem to kiddie for teens/adults and the game looks to dark for kids. Pre-teen boys might gobble it up but thats a small market all in all, especially on Wii.

I won't make any predictions until I know more about the game but from what I do know, I'd said this game will struggle to find an audience.

If the game is quality i could see it doing twice that. I mean like Disney isn't going to put out a major game starring it's mascot with no marketing. Even if it's not quality i could still see 3 mil just from advertising.

If they want it to move, they better start letting people know about it. I hadn't even heard of it up until a couple of weeks ago and I spend a few hours every day browsing game related news.

Eh, the game is a long way off, there's no rush. NSMB Wii wasn't even revealed until 5 months before release date.

As for 2.5mil, no problem. Not only is Disney backing the game, this is Mickey Mouse we're talking about here, by Warren Spector! Obviously we'd need more info on the game to know for sure, but at the very least we know it'll be a quality game based around a well-known IP. It's a perfect fit on the Wii!

Ah, another Wii exclusive with extremely high expectations.

I'd be surprised if it hits a million.
