Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Why so many Wii dissapointment threads lately?

I've been visiting the site many times lately and I've seen a lot of threads from people that say the Wii is a big dissapointment and that it doesn't have hardcore games and stuff like that. What's with that? did some guys got toghether and decided that they were going to attack the wii? It's its first year people, just wait a little more and you'll see a lot of hardcore games.

Besides all the cute, casual and easy games for the Wii we'll see in the next four months several hardcore ones.

I'll quote myself from another post:

"Super Mario Galaxy, Medal of Honor: Heroes 2, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Soulcalibur Legends, NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, Rygar: The Battle of Argus, No More Heroes.

These 8 games are considered to be in the hardcore department and have a good chance to be really good and will be released from now until february. If there ever was a drought of hardcore games on wii I believe it's coming to an end."

On topic: Ya, the Wii is gonna get some amazing games here, it'll be hard for anyone to be disappointed with the Wii.

I agree with you Bacon. In the end, you will learn that no matter how hard you try, there is always going to be somebody that will hate you. This is what is happening with the Wii; some people love it, some people will hate it...all you can hope for are more and more games for the system that you like and hopefully you will have some fun in the end. If, however, you only bought the system just for some bragging rights, then that is just sad.

I think people are just beginning to realize that while the Wii was supposed to promise SO MUCH FUN with it's new controller scheme, it didn't turn out to be as big of a deal as many hoped it would be.

Many people find the Wii controls slapped-on or not very well implemented. It seems that only mainly first party games can capture Wii controls well. I think people are bummed out that their machine is best for only playing Nintendo games and not much more, missing out on a lot of great exclusives on the other systems.

What games have you been playing whyser? Besides, no amount of Wii control would feel as slapped on as "SIX-AXIS" controls. I'm not saying that as an insult or anything, but it is most certainly my opinion.

They obviously haven't played Manhunt 2 yet. :)

I think Capcom will soon join the ranks of handling a Wii-mote very well.

RE4:Wii felt very comfortable and natural, and the upcoming Umbrella Chronicles looks to possibly revitalize an old arcade-shooter feel with a newer aspect: movie theatrics.

Exclusives mean you have to buy the console - this seems like a redundant and moot point, as the phrase "I think people are bummed out that their machine is best for only playing Nintendo games....great exclusives..." seems like such a given it's not even worth mentioning.

It's simply down to ('simple' meaning leaving out a lot of detail, but not really all that much detail) who wants to have Halo, who wants to have Nintendo, and who wants....  wants....  whatever else Sony shines with.   Anything else will be similar or like other games already out.

Numbers: Checker Players > Halo Players

Checkers Age and replayability > Halo Age and replayability

Therefore, Checkers > Halo

So, Checkers is a better game than Halo.
