Forums - Microsoft Discussion - First Natal game possibly revealed at a holiday party for Xbox 360!

I really have mixed feelings about this kind of demos. It seems Natal (or any competitor product) lacks precision for such a game. Traditional games seem easier to play with a traditional controller.

The key could be inventing new genres who rely less on precision and can't be played with a traditional controller.

I want to see a game built from scratch that is only possible using Natal controls.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

It's just a tech demo. I have a hard time seeing MS bothering to market and promote a commercial release of Geometry Wars Natal to sell the public on Natal.

While I'm sure it could be an entertaining alternative control scheme, for something like Geometry Wars, one only has to ask "does it make the game easier to play" as in will using motion tracking controls allow me to handily top my old high scores. If the answer is no, then it's just "an entertaining alternative control scheme" that doesn't offer any benefits in improving player/game interface.

I'll wait until we start seeing games designed specifically for Natal from the ground up before I start to feel any sense of anticipation.

I'm still buying it, but I do hope to be seeing something new and original, even if the early efforts happen to be along the lines of those PS Eye games SCE used to make one upon a time (whatever happened to the game support for that?!).

Hahaha. High Score 475. Looks like the default score of 100,000 hadn't been beat either. Haha.

I'm guessing eveybody else at the party are behind him playing Wii Sports Resort.

Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

Maybe it will be patched in to existing GW owners. I can't see a stand alone version being released. This is mostly likely an internal tech demo type deal.

this is still awsome and when you use it for your self I'm sure it is going to be mind blowing.

this technology is going to explode. I like to see what happens when they release a work out game that tells you what and how you should do your work outs.

A heart rate sensor to moniter your hart on screen and a basically a at home trainer.

It could tell what your doing wrong and what you need to improve.

I also heard about a horror game in development. that a creepy girl ask you to hand a piece of paper through the tv.

you hand it to her and she reads it out in a evil manner and start you on ur path or whatever.
Sounds cool and I'm sure alot of these types of elements will come with this tech.

I see way to many hardcore gamers thinking this is suppost to be this way or that way. You have no clue what this tech is going to do. Stop all the worrying and hating.

Either way it's more for the casual market and so is the ps3 wand , now what is going to come for the hardcore will have a choice for a controller or the motion control

Hmm, I can't see that working to well. Geometry Wars is all about precision and quick reflexes, especially in the later in the game when the levels get more intense.

I still can't see too many gamers getting into the whole playing games without a controller thing. It seems to add a burden to playing games rather than lift one.

I thought it looked great. And didnt look like he struggled in the slightest. Much more impressed than I thought I was gonna be. Love to try it. Looks more like art. The player making art as he plays. Cool idea and game choice.

I was thinking the same thing selnor, his movement was very fluid, much better than I anticipated. I still am not a fan of controllerless gaming but I'll give it a try when it comes out.

Hmm

I can imagine this game could be played with Gem atleast as good as with Natal.
They have to show things which cant be done with Gem/Wiimote this is not really impressive.
This reminds me of the Virtual Boy. Nintendo has actually a device to make 3d graphics but the games doesnt need to be 3d.

Another thing is how long can you play this way. This is not revolutionary at all.
How they are going to use Natal in Fable thats interesting.

It could go either way fail or be a success. It depends on the software.
