Forums - Gaming Discussion - ToS better than TotA? Why?

You are not going to regret your decission, I assure you. Tales of The Abyss is better than Tales of Symphonia in my opinion and is an awesome game. The only problem is the loading times: it can be very stressful.

Cue: The Rage of Soriku.

Oh hell yes, Abyss is better than Symphonia.
Its my favorite Tales. Symphonia is my least favorite (of the ones I've played at least few hours).

"And yet, I've realized that maybe living a "decent" life means you won't ever have a "good" life."

Abyss is a great ARPG, not just a great tales game.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

I would pick Symphonia over Abyss myself, but ToA is a stand-alone world. Where symphonia is expanded upon the established world of Aselia, as seen in Tales of Phantasia, Symphonia, and Knight of Ratanok. So in my opinion? Play Tales of Abyss first.

Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?

ToS is way better one of my fav rpgs, ToA is still good but not as good

Games playing now

Gamecube: TOS

Ps3: Fifa 10

I didn't play Tales of the Abyss but Symphonia is my favorite console RPG of all time.

I liked Tales of Symphonia better, but both are very good games.

8th gen predictions. (made early 2014)
PS4: 60-65m
WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m
3DS: 80-85m
PSV: 15-20m

ToS did give me a bigger "wow factor" since it was my first Tales, and I absolutely loved it, but Abyss despite some technicall issues is at least as good with a better soundtrack and the best character in the series, Colonel Jade Curtiss.

Hm...kind of a matter of preference, isn't it?
