Forums - Sony Discussion - Yahoo!: Don't buy a PS3 for Christmas because of dead battery.

A. They're talking about the half-life of the battery over time.

B. This is still the stupidest shit I've ever heard. If anyone lets that stop them from buying a console, they don't deserve to own it.

I don't need your console war.

You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.

Imagine if that article stopped someone buying a PS3... lol

Funny thing is it probably did for quite a lot of people.  Think of mom's and dad's that glance over something like this, then later on think when their kid asks for a PS3, mom says 'I heard bad things about that' how about an xbox..

This article almost reeks of MS's involvement in yahoo, maybe having control over their media was part of the 'deal.'

I'm sure buying a new dualshock 3 every 6 months would be cheaper than buying new batteries each week.

If this gets any traction in the buying public then Sony could easily sue. I would like to know whether the controller would still work using the USB charge cable work if the battery was stuffed. Sure you might not want to do that, but if it still works then you are not forced to buy a new controller.

It may be technically correct, but the implication of the article is that you can't expect a very good lifespan for the battery, such that the frequency of replacing the controller is a greater cost than the cost of buying batteries for the same length of use. That's a bold assertion without providing any backup evidence.

I just opened up my browser and saw this article titled "five gifts you don't really want": http://customsites.yahoo.com/financiallyfit/finance/article-108318-3394-3-gifts-you-may-want-to-avoid-html?ywaad=ad0035

"The PS3's remote control is glued shut". I dare say this guy has never seen a PS3 controller apart from on television. And even if he has, I doubt he's experienced a dead one before. These things take years before giving out, and when they do, their battery packs are easily replaceable. He could have at least researched the product before reviewing it (or is there something else going on here that I'm not aware of... *hint MS *hint*).

Glue, he says...

This.

PS3 Will Be King By 2016.

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Well well well, wonder if yahoo did the same thing with the IPHONE.

It has an internal battery too. In fact, you have to mail your iphone back to apple when the battery fails.

Amazingly odd how yahoo craps on the ps3 so much.

I do agree that battery is gay on the PS3. The original usb cable is incredibly short so i can't recharge and play at the same time.

NO NO NO NO. I was reading some of the comments earlier about an article just like this. The dumbass who was complaining about this apparently didn't realize that you can RECHARGE the controller.

This is what he said. "The controllers red light on the top started blinking for about 20 minutes and then suddenly went out. I tried restarting my ps3 a couple times, but the controller still wouldn't turn on." He also went on to say, he looked for the batteries like in the 360 controllers, but couldn't find out how to replace them.

He has to be the stupidest person I've ever seen. The red blinking light means the battery is low, and it will blink for 20 min to an hour before it goes out completely. PLUG IT IN STUPID.

I laughed so hard when I read what he wrote. he actually looked for the batteries in the controller, and was dumbfounded when he couldn't find them
