Its just supply & demand. The problem is not the supply - its not like there are NO Wiis being shipped. Its just that demand is *still* unusually high - especially in the US.

Its easy to get a Wii in Australia (I think...) - just about every store should have them in stock.

@DonWii,

Yeah the argument "Wii sells because it is cheap." is also known as "N2" on the Bingo Board of Ownage.

PS - That walmart customer choice bundle makes me cringe. I mean you would think they could offer a bit more than $3 savings on a bundle including 9 items (iirc) and costing over $600 base.

I tried calling every freaking Gamestop store and they say they are sold out within 1 hour. Is Nintendo going to increase shipment or keep the Wii's in the warehouses?

Talk to a sony fanboy.  Apparently stores around them have more wii's then they know what to do with.  Leo-J said every store in miami had multiple ones.  Maybe he could send you one.

 He was about one step away from claiming that miami residents were using them as hurricane shutters.

At my local JBHifi (in Adelaide, Australia), i counted 22 Wii's on the shelf! I think they are still selling like hot-cakes but the supply is starting to catch up.

I read somewhere that Wii production is at 1.8 million per month now and has been for some time. Seeing as Nintendo is currently selling around 1 million per month, a lot is being stock-piled for Christmas.

I'm glad that you are trying to get other systems and playing other games....I can't say that I can since I have no money left but thats good for you.

If you realllly want to get a Wii, I really suggest a Toys R' Us...I know it's a strange choice, but because it is, there is a lot more Wii's there compared to the other stores. Just find out when they are selling (usually every other Sunday), and just wait out one early morning. Yes, you are gonna have to wake up early (and miss Church if you are a Christian) but it is possible, and you can definitely get one....sooner or later. Or give up and get a PS3 instead. Either way, you win.

Explanation of sig:

I am a Pakistani.....my name is Dan....how hard is that? (Don't ask about the 101...apparantely there are more of me out there....)

At my store we are getting way more Wiis than we have ever gotten before and they are still selling out. We are selling about 12 Wiis a week in the smallest gamestop I have ever seen. For comparison, excluding the wii, we normally sell maybe 4 consoles a week.
