Forums - Gaming Discussion - YES or NO: PSN is already superior to LIVE.

YES

Around the Network

No. Its very close, but not superior.

No, Live is still the king for now, but the PSN is much improved and catching it.

@ Reptile

You only own a DS...

Did you tried both services at least?

The thread is broken????

I only see 5 posts now :S

Around the Network

1) well as far as layout of both services I give the nod to PSN.

2) As far as dowload speeds for Demos and the scarce firmware updates: Live

3) As far as video services I believe it is a tie now that they both have netflicks: Tie.

4) Having gamed on both I do chose to use dedicated servers over P2P: PSN

5) Live being the more mature of the two (being around longer) has given it the edge as far as game amount: Live.

So in my opinion they are a virtual "Tie" and if I had to say which  one was slightly better than the other, it would probably be PSN.  The reason why this is, is because of having "larger" multiplayer games with virtually no lag is a big thing to have (Resistance, M.A.G., Killzone having more than 18 people on line at the same time).  Plus it is free so the expectations are always going to be different.

I think PSN is better, I don't see why I need to pay yo play with friends, when the other competitors do that for free. I wish MS made a premium service rather than a $50 price tag to experience the full potential of XBL/Xbox360

BTW: I heard Sony was thinking on doing a premium service, can anyone confirm of deny this?

wow my post got removed

1) As far as layout of both services I give a nod to PSN

2) As far as downloading demo's and having scarce firmware updates: Live

3) Having a most stable online experience I give the nod to PS3 (dedicated servers vs P2P only): PSN

4) Seeing as live is the more mature (eldest) and having more content I give the nod to Live

5) Seeing as they both have VOD services and now both have netflicks, they both are egual: Tie

I believe that both services have many strengths and weakness, but at the end of the day I say they are a virtual tie.

If you are talking about multiplayer then I will obviously give the nod to PSN, this is only because they have higher player count games that are not found on Live ( Resistance, Killzone, MAG, Warhawk, etc).  They both are really equal none the less.

If you're piss poor: YES
If not: NO
