Forums - Sony Discussion - Who else thinks that its time for PSP2?

All Sony really needs to do is release the current PSP with a touchscreen. That is enough for a PSP2.

I doubt the new Nintendo handheld will surpass PSP graphics. It just isn't needed.

I like my handhelds cheap, with cheap games. Not $250 at launch with $50 games.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

@Soriku - If they don't come out with a new PSP thats fine, I've just had the 1000 for like 3 years and it would be cool for a new one :D.

^As long as the games aren't only focused on the touch screen.
And if they made new games $50 that would be an INSANE move, no PSP game cost more than $40 new here.

Yes, hopefully in 2010. I hope they make it less piratable too. Damn maybe they can actually sell some software on the PSP2.

I'm hoping for 2010 launch. Hopefully they build it right, I suggest MINI-bluray discs so that piracy is remained very minimal.

hi guys the problem with psp isent the discs it uses that can be hacked its the doftware and im pretty sure if sony wanted to realy make it un hackable they could but it would coast allot of money to do so, but wih the profit they have made from the PSP wich is obosuly humoungus they should of done it allready

Well I know few friends who are waiting that PSP Go will be hacked and then they will buy it...Pretty interesting.

Take my love, take my land..

i personally this we wont see a PSP2 for a long....long time, and im not talking 2015 im talking 2030 odd, the PSP will die and then Sony will focus on PS3,4,5 then try at portable gaming again in the future

no, i think sony should spend their time on ps3 exclusives. But that's only a personel opinion because i don't like handhelds in general!

Favourite Games:

PS: Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy VII. PS2: Resident Evil 4, Shadow Hearts Covenant, Final Fantasy X, Silent Hill 4, Soul Calibur III. PS3: Metal Gear Solid 4, Heavy Rain, Valkyria Chronicles, Uncharted 2, Mototstorm PR, God of War III, Modern Warfare 2. Xbox: Suteki, Fatal Frame II DC, Jade Empire. 360: Dead Rising, Lost Odyssey, Dead or Alive 4.

2012 i'd bet. This generation is far from over. I think Sony will be looking at ways of limiting piracy not a new system. The psp still has lots of legs in it.

Well, the PSP outsold the 360 last week, so I suppose we'll need a new Xbox as well?

You don't replace a console when it sells like the PSP is selling.

PS2 was selling more than PSP & 360 are now, much more when PS3 was announced in 2005

That's the PS2, it was a sales monster. The PSP is not a sales monster, but it is successful. The PS2 had 6 years before getting a successor, I don't see why the PSP would get any less, especially since handhelds live longer: how long was the Gameboy on sale, 15 years?

GameBoy Advance disagrees with you.
