Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Should I get A Xbox 360?

It's no sercret I'm a SONY fan through & through and I'll remain one, but in todays gaming world both consoles offer alot, so I was thinking about getting a 2nd Console (360) to play the 360's Exclusives on. Although the Ps3 will remain my No.1 Console, I will get all the Multi-Plats games on the Ps3 & Use the 360 just for the Xbox Exclusives, I'll probably sign up to Xbox Live to for a while my cousin has an Xbox so I'm very familar with Xbox Live & what it offers.

I'm thinking about going for the Elite model, but the RROD still plays on the back of my mind. Is The Elite any less prone to the RROD?

The elite has about as much of a chance of RRoDing as your PS3 does of YLoDing. I say go for it

Your preference for the PS3 shouldn't prevent you from enjoying the 360's exclusives...my preference for the 360, isn't stopping me from enjoying Uncharted and Valkyria Chronicles!

So I say, pull the trigger and have fun!

get a wii

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

The 360s made now are much much better and more reliable...

I sold my 2007 360 (which was great) to my friends and got a new one a few months back, it runs even better and quieter than my old one, plus with all the great exclusives now and i'm sure you've heard of all the ones releasing next year, i'd say go for it...

I agree with what other posters have said. I have had up to 7 games installed at one time and still had ~60GB left on the 120GB HDD so it will be plenty to install all games to reap those benefits. And as others have said, with Jasper now out your chances of RRoD are probably about the same as your chance of getting YLOD on your PS3. And the 360 still has the 3 year warranty just in case.

I say go for it.

I would get a PS3 as my 2nd console as well, but I do not even have the time to play all the 360 games. If I had more time, I would get a PS3 for some exclusives.

More consoles = More win.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Just as I've said in every thread where people ask the same question: every piece of electronics can and will break.

If your 360 does get a RRoD, you have a three year warranty that they are incredibly good about honoring so it is not a big deal. If your 360 lasts three years without a RRoD, I wouldn't worry too much about it breaking.

I agree with coolbeans. Weigh out the Pros and cons and make the decision on your own. Theres no need to start a thread over this. Your the one who is going to pay the money so you should make the decision. Not us.

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

You are in the UK so it's likely you have lots of friends/acquaintaces/family members to play on Live with. If so, the 360 is a great choice. Otherwise, I think Wii + one HD console is better (unless you just don't like the Wii's library) than dual HD console ownership because there's so much overlap between the two.

Also I wouldn't worry about the new 360 models. I have a Falcon (which is less reliable than Jasper) and I haven't had any problems with noise, disk scratching, disk read errors or overheating (I run games off the hard drive. Too bad I only have 60 GB). Now my laptop, that can be quite noisy and hot when I'm running modern PC games. Even when it meets the recommended specs no problem. I'm afraid to PC game on this thing. lol. My Falcon has never made me worry like that *knocks on wood since it's only been 7 months.*
