Forums - Gaming Discussion - Demon's Souls or Fallout 3 GOTY Edition?

I suggest getting Demon's Souls solely because it might go out of print pretty fast like many Atlus published game.

I found Fallout 3 to be the better game though. Demon's Souls isn't all that great, imo. Out of the 8 levels that I played, I only like 3 and two of them can be beaten in 20 minutes or less. Boss battles are pretty disappointing. I like the boss scales and all, but fighting them is kind of boring - tower knight was the only one I found fun and challenging. Speaking of challenge, the game isn't as hard as the reviewers put it out to be; you just have to move slow and not rush in. Story isn't remotely interesting, and the combat system is just average.

Sorry for my small rant.

If you haven't played any of them I'd definitely suggest Fallout 3 GOTY

100+ hours of fun and welll worth the money. I expect DS to drop quickly in price (well at least faster than Fallout 3 GOTY), so you might save a few bucks there.

why would demon's souls drop in price, its under printed right now? Not only that you can get the original fallout 3 which is the same game without the DLC for crazy cheap on ebay or craigslist. Than if you like the game enough you can go out and just download the DLC and end up spending around the same amount of cash anyway.

so people who have played both say demon souls and the people who tell you to get fallout 3 haven't even played demons souls. there should be enough here for you to make up your mind.

It's always the same when a new exclusive game releases. Everyone who played it praises it to oblivion but after a while more and more people come and say that the game wasn't THAT good.

Look at Resistance 2, look at Fable 2 & look at Halo ODST.

Most of the people that don't respond here to recommend Fallout 3 do this, because they don't want to appear like a fanboy or simply want to give the game a 2nd chance.

Dunno it seems like the kind of game which drops more quickly. Maybe that's only true for the European market though. I have a good feeling for such things.

I think Demon's Souls is a better game, but I think you'd enjoy Fallout 3 more based on your signature and profile.

I don't know anything about the european market so you could very well be right. As far as people praising demons souls because its exclusive yea I can see that but also this game has been out since February in Japan. A couple people who recommended it had it since then. I can only speak for myself though and can say which one I prefer with it having nothing to do with when it was released.

I couldn't disagree with Mirson more. Demon's Souls is an amazing game. I also don't think it will go out of print that fast, the game is selling pretty well and word of mouth is picking up fast.

I would say...get Demon's Souls but it is a close call. I own both and have played both, Demon's Souls wins out for me because I prefer the swords and sorcery angle, but Fallout 3 is amazing also. In the long run I don't think you will lose out whichever one you get.

Finish the game, play on New Game +. That's where the real challenge begins.

The bosses you have been fighting are mini bosses of the levels. Fight the Archstone demons, it might change your opinion on boring boss battles.

The game IS hard ( unless you already watched the guides or videos on how to beat the levels or bosses.)

I'm more of a Fallout 3 fan so you should know what I'm gonna say lol
