Forums - Website Topics - Why are there so many mods?Is the whole active userbase going 2 b mod soon?

Honestly, I'd say probobly half of the regular posters here are now mods.

What do we need so many mods for?  We had 2 moderating mods before, and they did the job well enough.

For News?

It doesn't take that many people to update the news.  I mean, there's going to be a thread about whatever important news comes out, and you just copy that and put it in the news section.

I just feel that the position of being a "mod" is being handed out like it's nothing.  I don't understand the need for so many mods.  Especially when I see certain people who certainly don't fit the criteria for being such...

All in all it's not really a big deal; I just fail to understand...

I'm seriously very surprised that one of the news mods has posted this in the forum, just a few days ago:

ssj12:
"ever think maybe they are going to have a version with a 65nm RSX and Cell? I'm seriously starting to hate this site..half of you dont even understand how technology works. You probably don't even know a 4 terabyte HDD is going to be released soon. Morons."

Ask ioi. They probably aren't really needed so much at the moment for moderating, more so for adding news sections etc. but this website is constantly growing, and in the future perhaps their mighty mod powers will be of use.

Haha i'll come out and say myself that I am skeptical of ssj12 being a mod, but let's give him a chance and see if he can act more mature in his new position.

Also don't let this turn into a "bash ssj12" thread.

So ssj12, if you read this, please promise us that you will take a few seconds and think before you press the post button.  If you do that, I have no problems with you being a mod.

I don't have a personal beef with ssj12 but he has come off repeatedly as a bit too aggressive, in my opinion, to be a fair moderator.
