Yes.  Newer games have better graphics, gameplay, sound, etc because they built off of what those games contributed towards gaming.

So, hypothetically, if we took a 100 random people who have never played video games before, and let them play a 360 and a NES in random order, all 100 of them would vote for the 360 as their choice between the two?

I highly doubt it.

I highly doubt it too.  Tests using people usually have a margin of error, probably enough for one person to choose NES.

What you say isn't true.

I got into gaming on the N64, but I like the NES, MegaDrive and Super Nintendo more. I like Super Mario Bros more than Super Mario 64 even though Super Mario 64 was the first one I played. Sonic CD is way better and more fun to play today than SONIC2006. Nintnedo DS is outselling the PSP even though the DS is as powerful as the N64 and the PSP is as powerful as the PS2. Virtual Console games are selling very well.

Warcraft 3 has better graphics, story and sound that Starcraft, but Warcraft 3 is still an inferior game, and Starcraft 2 when released has also a good chance of being inferior.

Saying newer games has to be better because they are newer is bullshit.

ok i started playing with the NES so i'm not gonna list ones before that, but here we go.

8.saturn (i'm tempted to list this much higher)

this doesn't explain how i can play games that i missed out before on now and still have a blast with them.  I have no nostalgia for a game I never experienced. 

I only played NES, PS2 and PS3

For me the list is 1.PS3, 2.PS2, 3.NES.

PS2 will probably come up here when I get more time with it...
