Isnt Sony working on a software emulation for PS2 BC for all PS3s? I thought I saw they filed for a patent for doing such a thing.

what's even more interesting is that gow has never been a big seller :P
I think their highest was like 3M or something, in an environment of like 110M consoles.

They will add BC when the time is right.
Right now, they need people to buy ps3 games, especially with the price drop and potentially entering the red again. Once they hit like 50-60M they will reintroduce BC. They don't want BC to get in the way of sales, especially when ps2 is still available. BC would kill the ps2 off, and they are making a respectable income off of that already.

Agreed, 2 in 1 is better, but if this link is any indication BC for PS3 is not going to happen ever.

I know... GoW is by far the best franchise in the ps2 family. I have no idea how a stupid and boring as game like GT (no offense, i hate racing... expect the fun ones like mario kart or diddy kong racing] can sell 10M and GoW no more than 3M O.o

I just want a ps3 to play GoWIII, with the other ones from ps2 and shadow of the colossus.... and some other extra ones. But the main thing is GoW

True but you are assuming that the PS3 Slim will be losing them money,  it is quite possible that they may be at a break even point with the Slim if the 70% numbers are correct.  So having customers get a PS3 instead of a PS2 is not always a bad thing.

Maynard, I appreciate you own Sony equipment but over the last year your posts in sales threads have all tended to be variations of "Ouch for Sony!!!! XD" and the like, so it's not hard to see why some people question your neutrality...

yeah, it really makes no sense because gow is such an incredible franchise, with good levels of difficulty, storyline, and character design.

True but you are assuming that the PS3 Slim will be losing them money,  it is quite possible that they may be at a break even point with the Slim if the 70% numbers are correct.  So having customers get a PS3 instead of a PS2 is not always a bad thing.
