I'm not convinced because I can't even understand half of what you posted. I'm not sure if the statistics you posted match your arguments. IMO, if you are going to complain about VGC numbers, you have to have undisputable proof from multiple sources. Plus you should send the info to Ioi first instead of whining about it on the forums.

Calm down , FishyJoe.

I appreciate his finding because he discover GFK numbers. I don't think he would complain, I think he want to help ioi job.

I also understand that maybe there is too much whining ( about ioi job ) inside some thread but i think this is not the case.

I want inform ioi, and the others on the website. ioi do a great job, but he need official numbers to continue his job in the better conditions. Diomedes did the same last week for spain numbers. And we will continue to do that.

Unfortunately I could not understand much of what was posted. Unfortunately it is very hard to understand bilingual posts. However I think the point made is that the Xbox 360 has been overestimated in France. While the sites numbers for the PS3 seem to be on par.

I would suggest the VGchartz own numbers are probably correct in this analysis, and that something is not being quantified properly. The question should be what this site is quantifying that the sources are not. Look at it this way if the information for one is so correct how could the information for the other be so wrong. You would expect either both to be terribly wrong, or both to be terribly right.

We either have sources giving invalid numbers, or this site is privy to information that is not being accounted for. Perhaps a secondary market in the form of exporters, or imported units are being counted to the region specific numbers. In other words for instance sellers importing units from other regions.

For me, ioi have no data or very few from France. But, he has data from UK (his country). For the rest of europe, he also extrapolate the sales in France (germany, spain....) with the data he obtain from england. But the different country in Europe are not UK. It's why there is problems. It's why, he use the data from gfk and chart track. With that, his extrapolation are better, but not perfect. For the french in my thread, i have made all the essential translation. In other thread, diomedes has do the same: the original text in spanish, and a little translation to understand.

In france, the big problem is the old numbers for the 360 which are to high compare to gfk numbers. For the ps3, it's just a question of end august, and so the sales in september which are more high that vgchartz give for the moment.

ah, the conclusion helps. Keep posting this. It helps ioi keep his numbers on track.

For those that don't understand, these are just stats from GfK for France, which says :

GfK source
cumulated sales of PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2007, in thousands of units on french market
In this order : range - PS3 - Xbox 360, we have:
January - August 2007 179 97
March - August 2007 179 66

The numbers are the same for PS3, as it was released after March.

Georges Fornay also says, still taking his informations from GfK, that more than 200k PS3 were sold in France at end of September, which is 3 times what Xbox 360 sold in the same time period, which must be PS3 launch month to end of September. Of course, for the PS3, it's the LTD.
