I would suggest the VGchartz own numbers are probably correct in this analysis, and that something is not being quantified properly. The question should be what this site is quantifying that the sources are not. Look at it this way if the information for one is so correct how could the information for the other be so wrong. You would expect either both to be terribly wrong, or both to be terribly right.
We either have sources giving invalid numbers, or this site is privy to information that is not being accounted for. Perhaps a secondary market in the form of exporters, or imported units are being counted to the region specific numbers. In other words for instance sellers importing units from other regions. |
For me, ioi have no data or very few from France. But, he has data from UK (his country). For the rest of europe, he also extrapolate the sales in France (germany, spain....) with the data he obtain from england. But the different country in Europe are not UK. It's why there is problems. It's why, he use the data from gfk and chart track. With that, his extrapolation are better, but not perfect. For the french in my thread, i have made all the essential translation. In other thread, diomedes has do the same: the original text in spanish, and a little translation to understand.
In france, the big problem is the old numbers for the 360 which are to high compare to gfk numbers. For the ps3, it's just a question of end august, and so the sales in september which are more high that vgchartz give for the moment.
