In the UK it is £70 cheaper than the PS3, the Arcade is the cheapest console apart from the DS Lite

umm.. Did everyone forget that the Elite also comes with a 120GB hard drive???... lol
how many people actually buy the elite? this is the question the TC should be asking.
"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)
"WAR is a racket. It always has been.
It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

Good point but PS3 harddrives are the same as some laptops and you can find deals for 250gig harddrives (that can work on PS3) for less then what the 120 gig 360 harddrives cost at retail. Although I grabbed my used 120 gig off ebay for $60-ish. |
u can find 320gb for less of 120gb 360 HDD
Um yeah... didn't someone state awhile back that elites account for like 15% of XBox sales? And that what the reason they bundled Halo 3 and Fable with Elites from now on? MS still wants to make a profit off *something* so they make profits off Elites.
I would say they easily profit off pros now to.
Arcades? Who knows. But I'm sure Arcades still make up a bulk of the sales right now.
It's just that simple.

The XBOX 360 is $199, it does not need to go down in price.. |
I mean the Elite.
I don't think MS is going to drop the prices on anything at this rate, look at their recent quarter report. Even with Natal and the new Zune the entertainment division is bleeding money.

Fixed.
I always thought that MS and Sony made all their profits off the games, not the consoles. It would make sense too as it costs 50+ dollars to buy a game and yet it probably costs a tenth of that to make it.
