The only thing the elite has that the other 360 models dont is more memory and hdmi ,  some newer models of the 60g 360 have hdmi so its realy nothing new and different.

I dont care if  theres a 299 xbox 360.

I dont care if theres a 199 xbox 360.

 

microsoft profits from each 360 elite and sony loses from each 80g sold, I hope people stop complaining about the ps3 being expensive.

u know 360s are made from cheap right? even components point of view ps3 still more bang for the buck.

All Xbox 360 come with HDMI since mid 07' ...Arcade, Pro 20gb ..

The Xbox 360 pro had only a year and a half being HDMI-less since first introduced.

Because only Sony is allowed to lose a ton of money on a $400 model. If Microsoft also lost a ton of money on the $400 model then people would accuse them of copying Sony.

Things can always get cheaper and in the case of the PS3 they have more work to do but Microsoft will also be using price.

Oh and Microsoft are just copying Sony anyway.

Original post might as well have said "Most expensive 360 is the same price as the cheapest PS3, why are people complaining about the price." This is about as good of an argument as saying the 360 is $199 and the PS3 is $499.

While both are technically correct they are largely inconclusive and inaccurate.

The Pro + Elite combined makes up for about 75-85% of all 360 sku's in non-holiday months such as this. The Arcade eventually starts to make up about 45-50% of all the sku's in those 2 holiday months when price is a much bigger factor for gift giving.

The Elite if I were to guess based on the $290 average sale price, makes up about 10% and the Pro makes the other 65-75%.

I need to make a point.... I think all 360s now and since the end of 2007 have HDMI.  I brought my 360 (20gb hard drive version) in Dec 2007 and it has HDMI.
