On topic, I've actually seen a fair share of girls handle the psp (which all accidentally shared the same color :P) but I do believe it's appeal to a broader market, yes

DS has broader audience, that's it. Women definitely are valuable consumers, but older gamers (35+ y.o. ~30% of DS user base) as well.

The playstation portable doesn't need to outsell the nintendo ds. Because both systems are aiming for totally different kind audience.

Speculation on my part as long as I don't have detailed info on PSP user base, but I guess they overlap heavily. So yes, despite some people like to think that^ way, in fact I believe that DS and PSP are in direct competition. Surprising, isn't it? =)

I was sitting and thinking about what was wrong with the PSP and why it wasn't selling. I went back to that fail of a E3 2008 sales boasting from Nintendo and I realized the major reason of failure for Sony. They fail to appeal to women. Watch it over again and you'll see what I mean.

Either way, what you say is true, but even if we only count males I think the DS is ahead of the PSP since it has more than double it's sales.


No...I said Dragon Quest and JRPG's like FF: CC haven't recieved the reception they deserve on the Wii.
