extrapolating the situation, yea...  the playstation brand might have been dead ! I wouldnt have had a chance to purchse it (yea i couldnt get it upon release)

+ i dont believe Sony would have even done a half decent job of what Microsoft did... if they really knew how to do damage control - Sony should have focussed on Microsofts RROD and Nintendo's shying away from hardcore gamers  and advertised the hell of of them...

Last week Xbox outsold PS3 in every single region in Europe.  I'm sure that's because of the one year head start though, since all those early sales definitely account for higher sales at this point.

So really, PS3 came out later and is being currently outsold, making me even more right.

Incidentally, I live in America but am originally from Ireland.  My reply had ZERO to do with patriotism, and 100% to do with the fact that he is provably and objectively wrong.

Maybe what you say is true, but you just completely changed the argument.  If you want to say that 360 outsells PS3 because of price, that has some validity.  But that has nothing to do with what Destroyer_of_knights originally said.

He tried to make it sound like the only reason 360 sells is because Americans buy American regardless, which is horseshit.  360 is less stable than the original Xbox, and is selling better in Japan, Europe, and the US than original.  PS3 is more stable than PS2 and is selling worse in Japan, AMerica, and Europe than the original.  So clearly this has nothing to do with Americans whatsoever, since clearly system stability and sales numbers are not at all related.

You made a dumb comment, completely disregarded your original argument in favor of a new one, and tried to condescend to me.  Nothing you say, though, can change the FACTS which completely destroy what the two of you were trying to argue.  All you cared about was that he said something about how Americans were stupid, so you disregarded any semblance of reason or logic so you could pat yourself on the back about your wholly imagined intellectual and moral superiority.

This thread is NOT about the current sales, this thread is about the hyperthetical of IF the PS3 suffered the RRoD, and weather you would of bought one as well as the hyperthetical sales of these RRoD afflicted PS3....Nice try though.
