Forums - PC Discussion - I need help building a gaming PC ( UK )

My budget is about £300 , probably a bit lesss . If anyone could tell me where I can get the parts and what parts I should get it would be much appreciated , i'm pretty confident about building the PC myself.

Or might it be a better idea to buy a complete desktop PC ?

http://www.dabs.com/ is usually a good bet to get some good cheap parts.

Generally my experience at your price point is to buy a desktop from a manufacturer (Dell, HP, toshiba ETC). THis is because they order so many parts that they have a big discount on them and can build and sell the computer for less than you can buy it. Definatly look around and see what they offer.

If your really intent on building it check out newegg.com. They have the largest and best selection of computer parts

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

Check around through Ebuyer, Overclockers.co.uk, Scan.co.uk and dabs! Most will have good weekly offers.

What will you be using the PC for? Better to know this so it can be more specified for your needs :D

Also will you be needing the operating system in this price? If so I recommend you download the windows7 RC which you'll be able to use freely until March 2010. It's what I'm using and it's more than stable, overpowers XP and Vista by a country mile!

Gaming PC?

So we need to know for sure:

What sized monitor? (Influences the graphics card choice)
What types of games preferred?
When do you want to get it? (Windows 7 is coming out in October)

Tease.

Well the monitor will be the one i'm currently using with my PS3

The games will be mostly online RPG's and old RTS's and if it could play more recent games on moderate settings that would be sweet.

I want to get it A.S.A.P.

So what size monitor?

What parts can you reuse from an older computer? HDD, Optical Drive, Case, etc?

It's a good offer, it's prebuilt but trying to add the same components seperatly just ended up costing more :(

The CPU isn't it's strongest feature but the Graphics card should be strong enough for your needs!

Or... I've made this which you can easily change to cater more of your needs as you haven't been that detailed in this thread :P
