on the other hand, the twin snakes on the gamecube only sold 0.07 million copies, while mgs2 substance sold very little on the xbox...even mgs: portable ops sold better on the psp than the other mgs games on other platforms combined!

 

so there is no disputing the fact that even though snake has made appearences on almost every console that he is associated with sony...maybe not officially, but in the eyes of fans he definitely is!

That GC game was just a remake and gc was a flop anyway. Anyway, metal gear solid was also on the pc. I bought it for the pc :)

Snake is actually a mascot on a wii game, that's what makes this a lot more funny to see ps3 owners calling him their mascot.

 

Just call Crash bandicoot your mascot, who cares if he's dead, hasn't stopped Sega from using their mascot now has it? :)

lmao, snake is not a mascot for the wii and will never be associated with any nintendo games regardless of how many times he has appreaed on a nintendo console and seeing u say that is truly "pathethic"

I said wii game and not wii. Learn to effing read? I consider every character in super smash bros. brawl to be a mascot of that game. That's why snake is a mascot on a wii game. I find it pathetic that you can only think of one mascot and he's not even exclusive to playstation. I'll always see crash bandicoot as playstation mascot.

Cloud Strife in Japan

recently:
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
FFVII PSN
FFVII: Advent Children with FFXIII demo (exclusive in Japan)
and you can bet they have used him to promote Dissidia too


so for Japan you could make a case for Cloud for sure
he has been a strong promoter of PlayStation ever since the release of the game in 1997
and has been used for general PlayStation promotion, not only FF related
but it's third party so Sony can't use it whenever they want to,
and you can't use Cloud for ever


but outside of Japan
Sony doesn't have a real mascot

u find that pathetic eh? well a lot of ppl in this thread have associated snake with the playstation, i guess they are all pathetic as well, right? and so are the millions of people worldwide who think the same way...yeah, ur the only one that's making any sense while the rest of us are pathetic

I think it's pathetic that the only mascot people can come up with is Snake for the playstation. Learn how to understand a sentence. I'm not saying the people are pathetic here, but the fact that Sony has no real mascot is a little bit pathetic. When I think of Snake, I think of my very first real game that I bought and that's on the pc. Just because MGS4 was exclusive doesn't make Snake a mascot of the ps3... That's like calling Sonic a mascot of Nintendo...

dude, not just mgs4, but mgs1, mgs2 (not substance), and mgs3 were all exclusive to sony...and there are definitely other candidates for sony's mascot and like a lot of ppl have mentioned, there are way too many choices and thus it's hard to find a definitive figure...for some ppl it's snake, for some it's crash and for others it's sackboy

I wouldn't call that many... The only company with too many choices is Nintendo. Doesn't a mascot have to be first party made? A mascot should have never been on another platform as well. I just wish Sony would revive crash bandicoot again. He's(was) EPIC.

i actually never ended up playing any of the crash bandicoot games...i think that sackboy however isnt a good mascot, they just made some simple cute character and called it their mascot...i love lbp but come on! i would instead prefer nathan drake or kratos to be marketed as a mascot for ps...or if they could somehow revive jak and daxter, that wud truly be sick
