Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony did everything first

Edit: Okay, it's starting to get crazy in here so let me say a few things. The title was just to draw your attention. Sony didn't do everything first but they did some things. Well from what i know. Enlighten me if you will.

I found these things and i thought it was interesting that Sony did do a lot of things first, it only became succesful after the Wii came out.

This is an exercise game or whatever for the Eye Toy.

I found this in the thread about the motion controle Sony is doing. But i think it is more the people who are working on it that have been doing it for a while not Sony. Because I think Sony came in and just wanted their product.

It seems Sony does everything first lol I guess it wasn't a hit though in that time.

you are wrong on the first one, nintendo did it first on the NES

btw anyone had this game before? :-p

I can't wait to try this kind of technology. I although feel that Natal will be the first device that will truly use the concept.

It seems like Sony does everything first? Are you kidding?

Tell me where these things came from: D-Pad, Shoulder buttons, Analog Triggers, Diamond set-up for the four face buttons(SNES in case you were wondering), rumble, analog stick..

They're all mainstays of the Sony Playstation Controller and they're all copied from previous efforts. Even the new Playstation Motion is a rip off of the Wii Remote as it just reverses the light source and camera. This generation the major new innovations have been:

- split controller, each being motion sensitive
- controller speaker
- IR pointer

And now the others follow once again. Although Microsoft seem to be innovating, Sony are copying almost directly. No matter how long they've been working on this, it's just going to be seen a a Wii ripoff, they aren't bringing anything new to the table at all

Yeah, i think Sony should have pushed the Eye Toy more. That's why the PSeye doesn't do well. I mean i don't have one but i want one now.

Simpsons did everything first.

Ooo, ooo, let me play too.

Sony created the internet, the automobile, and fire.

You missunderstand, i'm talking about motion control. They actually had a good thing with the Eye Toy but they didn't market it well and it just got left behind while now MS is making Natal.

And as it was shown others were working on the motion before the Wii. Sony wasn't working on it but some guys were.

Besides there's no need to get all crazy.
