I know if it's a $100 different, it's definitely better to go with the 60gig.  But what if the price difference between a 60gig PS3 and an 80gig w/ Motorstorm is $80?

Does the 80gig consume less power?  More quiet?  Less errors?

Compatibility is not issue for me because I still like my PS2 and will move that to my room.  So leaving compatibility behind, is the newer better?

Get the 80gb. You NEED the space, it still plays over 80% of your ps2 games at 1080p. And it brings motorstorm(rapes dirt in every way possible). They have ALOT of online content for motorstorm, I think maybe 5 new vehicles and 2 new tracks?

You could get the 60gb, save the 80/100 bucks, and just buy a bigger hard drive to put in the PS3. Go 60.

EDIT:

If that's the case, wait. FF13 and GT5 won't make appearances until either super late 08 or sometime in 09, the price will have come down another 100 bucks, at least.

1. Are you going to play alot of PS2 games?
2. Is $100 all that special to you?

if you answer yes to question 1 and / or answered yes to question 2 then you should get the 60G.

If you answered No to #1 and no to #2 then get the 80G.

If compatibility isn't an issue then get the 80gb. It has everything the 60gb has and it comes with a game and more space.

Neither, stay with the Wii.

I heard that even with 4 or 5 demos downloaded, it used less than 30% of the 60gig. Is hard drive space really that critical?

it's a console, i don't even know why you would need more than 20 gigs if you have a computer. You might download demos and stuff, but why keep your entire music library on there or loads of movies? That's what the computer is for. Seems kind of silly to say "you NEED the space."

I still love the Wii, but I NEED to have PS3 for Final Fantasy 13, vs13 and GT5. :)  I'm a Final Fantasy fan more than anything.  :D

go with 60 gig. you dont need the space
if you going to fill up that 60gig so fast, then that extra 20 gig wont help you much.
the 100 bux you save can get you a bigger hard drive, and you'll have 2 to swap around with. Plus the 60 gig can run all your ps1 and ps2 game.
you can probably buy a used version of motorstorm for like 30 bux.
