Anyone else impressed by the Wii visuals at E3?

Even the casual games are starting to look good.

See what I'm saying.

Wii is seeing a lot of software now and even the Shovelware devs like UFO have stepped it up.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

can't say that I am, but then again PC gaming has spoiled me.

Graphics are not that important to me but yes developers seem to have stepped up in this regard, probably seeing how important Wii is now.

For me great graphics is a plus, not the most important aspect of a game. My favorite games are still from SNES and while I love the graphics in some of those games it´s really dated by today´s standard.

It's clear that devs are putting much more efforts in Wii and that probably more middleware has been developed to aid the production.

Personally I'm most impressed by Silent Hill. Not for the graphics, although the flashlight effects looks very good, but for the whole idea.

Red Steel 2 looks amazing as well.

The cutscenes for Metroid were very impressive and Crystal Bearers is amazing simply because of the size and openness.

Yes! I´m really excited for Silent Hill. I´ve never been a huge fan of Konami but Silent Hill has never been on a Nintendo console before and if there is one Konamigame that I´ve wanted for Nintendo it´s Silent Hill. This looks like a good Silent Hill too, doesn´t it?

a lot of this success has to do with the fact that PS2 is dying out(check the list of PS2 upcoming games), and theres no longer possible to deviate PS2 versions of games for the WII , not even for multiplats.
Developers are doing now the effort (they are forced) to do ground up games for the wii.The power of the console is finally being tapped into. Moreover, some took it as a personal crusade to show what the white box can do WITHIN its constrains.
I have a ps3 and it didnt spoil me, I still can see the achievement and games like The Conduit still manage to impress me for pushing so much on the console. Wii is no longer and should no longer seem as a last gen console in terms of graphics. Old xbox was pushed to its very max to perform HL2 and Doom 3, sacricifing mulitplayer and framerates. The wii got to match that without even maxing itself. By next year with the newer games as the grind, Wii will stand as part of next gen consoles, sure, as the weakest one, BUT not as last gen. Certainly is quite far ahead of Ps2 or GC for that even now.

^Agreed

Currently enjoying: Monster Hunter Tri.

I was very impressed with Super Mario Galaxy 2- it looks even better than its predecessor.

Well this is 2nd or 3rd wave Wii games. Visuals were going to look a hell of a lot better. Can only imagine how good Galaxy 2 will look as a finished project. And then Zelda Wii. Once they get better with the hardware, visuals always start too look better. Wii was not an exclusion from that.
