Forums - Microsoft Discussion - I've figured out how to use the MS Natal for FPS games

Movement is controlled through the camera. Running, ducking, diving

Shooting would be controlled through the microphone. To shoot, the player merely has to say "Pew pew pew"

Rocket launchers could be controlled with the player yelling out "BOOM!"

None of this moving your feet in racing games to accelerate/brake. Just make the sound effects and it'll do it

:D

Wouldn't it be easier just to make a fist when you want to shoot?  As for the rocket launcher why not just have the voice command "rocket launcher"?

Of course, the game might confuse "BOOM!" for a grenade instead!

Also, for melee:

Why not be like the Wii and make an add on peripheral that is well a gun.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

That would be awesome, and incredibly stupid

that sounds amazing. Much better than that stupid remote control button pressing nonsense.

I'd buy Natal for a (good) game like this. I'm not kidding

If they were using the Speech Recognition system (quite old now)..that could produce some hilarious consequences. You say pow pow....and all of a sudden the game goes to main menu...then powers down. Anyone remember this video?

You should be fine as long as your house doesn't have ambient noises

one thougt...if this going to come out to xbox next year?...isnt that to late for making any difference?....why not just bundle it with 720 instead?

That would make a perfect parody add SONY could do.

A warrior keeps death on the mind from the moment of their first breath to the moment of their last.

You could hide behind your couch when you want to take cover. Diving for cover, forward rolls, etc. might need fairly spacious playing areas of course.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Do you mean you'd have to run towards the camera (and screen) to run forwards? What would  you do when you reached the screen if you still wanted to move forwards? How about if you moved to the left and then wanted to move forwards. Wouldn't you have to move back to the right first to be in front of the camera? I'm confused!
