Forums - Nintendo Discussion - are you hyped for Nintendo's E3 showing

So what exactly is Nintendo supposed to do this E3? They can't just forget and completely ditch their expanded audience, yet the veteran players want Nintendo to make a huge hardcore blowout this E3. What is really the best option for Nintendo?

I really doubt we'll ever see a strictly "core" E3 where they just make one huge announcement after another, or just have one huge core game as their main focus. They're going to need to continue balancing core and expanded games in order to cater to everyone.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I think Sony and Microsoft have done a good job balancing both core and casual software and announcements.

EDIT: In their E3 pressers of course.

It should be really good this year as it can't possibly be as worse than last year.

I think Nintendo took a year off as going from failed gamecube era to highly successful wii era probly took extreme effort, so I think they needed a year rest. (over the last year) that might be why Nintendo hasn't released any good games over the last year and their E3 conference was half assed (lol funny word).

So I think they kept everything back to be shown in one big show this year, not betting everything on it, I just want to hope so :s

I have (or have/had in the household): ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Amiga, NES, Sega Master System, Super Nintendo, Sega Megadrive, Gameboy, Playstation, Nintendo 64, Windows 95, Gameboy Colour, Windows 98, Sega Dreamcast, Gameboy Advance, PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, Windows XP, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, Windows Vista, iPhone, Windows 7, 3DS, Wii U, PS4, Windows 10, PSVR, Switch, PS5 & PSVR2. :D

and I Don't have: Magnovox Odyssey, Any Atari's, Any Macintosh computers, Sega Gamegear, Virtual Boy, Sega Saturn, N-gage, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PSP, PSVita & Andoid Phone. Plus any non-main-stream consoles/platforms I haven't mentioned.

They really should not be bringing Cammie back...

I think some people are stilling in denial what E3 is capable of. E3 is the only big media entertainment where NON CORE MEDIA attend. There are other places were the core media also go to. E3 is where you have the oppertunity to sell to a larger market. Nintendo won't screw this up by focusing on the core. They will do what they have been doing the last few years.

Instead watch for third party announcements. Watch the internet. The core fans get the news one way or the other. It's time act like a grown up and not be selfish and hog everything on the table. So now when Nintendo does there presentation don't be let down that they didn't cater to whims of the core.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

Agreed, she does not have the stage presence required to address a bunch primarily young male adults.

based on the latest from HVS, I'm very excited for next weeks E3.
