If I buy an X360 right now from amazon am I guaranteed to get the one of the new RROD free chipsets. This is very important as I don't live in the US and won't be able to use the warratny should anything happen.

There's always a chance of getting rrod. but that chance is so much smaller than it was before i'd estimate around a 5% chance of getting it these days.

Edit--i read the question wrong.  to answere that i'm not sure.  I would imagine amazon keeps the newest one's in stock...and if worst comes to worst and you get one that doesn't ahve one of the new chips then you can always return it.

If you can't get warranty, don't get a 360 unless you are ready to buy a new one if anything happens.

That advice to me, would apply to any electrical goods I spent $200 or more on.  It's the main reason I wouldn't import Rock Band Biab.

If you live in the US , UK , Japan , then buy it with the warranty.
if you live somewhere else, then expect to spend half the money you bought your console with everytime you get the RROD.
