Wait, wait, wait. So EGM and Joystiq, avowed haters of motion control, do not like the motion control dominated Mario & Sonic. I could have written this thread knowing just "EGM","Joystiq", and "Mario&Sonic".

Legend11, is there some sort of source for this? it is not that i don't believe you, i do, i would just like to have a read through of the other games that you haven't mentioned in the other rankings..

I'll type out the Wii games by their opinions of how they played (they mention at the top of the page they only included ones they were playable, they also mention that some games could end up being a lot better since they're unfinished products). Also there seems to be very few Wii games on the list, I'm not sure if there weren't as many playable Wii games or they just didn't get a chance to play all the Wii ones. Also these guys are probably hard on the Wii (not as hard as 1UP but not a lot easier either) so I'd take what they say with a grain of salt even though they are still fair reviewers:

I found it strange they just considered Metroid Prime 3 "Good" so that should tell you that they can be pretty hard on games... Chances are some of the average games would be considered "Good" by almost everyone else.

Also oddly enough they gave Wii Fit game of the show, but said they were torn because some parts about it are fun (bob soccer balls and perform ski jumps) and others feel like a chore (yoga and push-ups).  They were also disappointed that Kid Icarus wasn't at the show, apparently it was/is rumored to be in development.  Oh and they liked Mario's Bee Suit but they wish it did more than give him flight.

They have Zack & Wiki as average... BURN.

i like these EGM guys! only 1 game as awesome, the way it's supposed to be.

I think you mean "overseeing" it.  Overseeing means watching over, being involved with, etc.  Overlooking means you missed something.

i was never that interested in this but i doubt it deserves to be in terrible.

They explained the Mario and Sonic at the Olympics thing vs Galaxy back on Kotaku when the best in show was listed for Leipzig. "Secondly, with Mario & Sonic...OK, got no idea on that one. The rules said something about "participation was open to all companies exhibiting playable products at the GC, the launch of which was not planned before the beginning of the convention", which must explain why Mario Galaxy didn't get the nod."

What!!!! F-Zero GX was an utterly amazing game.
