Forums - PC Discussion - Starcraft 2 is too complicated for most players

Watched the Battle Report of two professional players, and I was very dissapointed.  Now everything unit seems to have a special power.

Zerglings can morph into bombs

New air units with special bombs.

Awesome!

This is sounding better and better all the time!

OH NOES!!!1one! What is Blizzard doing raising the skill cap in an RTS game??? Now only Azn's will be able to play :(

/sarcasm off

Good, maybe we'll have strategies other than making 50 siege tanks.

Think of it as in Warcraft 3, how each unit has a special ability. (Like Raiders have that rope thing that can ground flying units)

Also, most of them have to be researched first, so it takes a lot of forethought when your building towards your style, specific tech tree and strategy. Your not gonna be able to give all your units abilities, unless you amass a huge amount of resources early in the game. I think its refreshing since there was only one way to play with any kind of unit in the original StarCraft. Not so, in the sequel. You can be stealthy with Terrans or Defensive with Zerg etc., its completely up to you now.

Like in the first battle report, when the Terrans upgraded and were able to take out zealots from long distances and the zealots were too slow to fight back or escape, the "charge" ability allowed Zealots to actually be useful in battle since they can finally keep up with Terran units and chase down enemys.

I personally think its a great addition. Right now, my major concern is balance more than anything.

Lol

People will be playing this for the next 10 years. If it wasn't complicated Blizzard would be in a lot of trouble.

Honstly Blizzard games are limited only by how fast the south koreans can click (and if youve watched any of the pro competitions thats rediculously fast)

The first starcraft looks complicated, or looked complicated on the surface, but is rather easy.

Samething for Starcraft 2.... Once you play you'll get the hang of it.

Its the other way around, starcraft 2 is way more friendly.

- units are smarter (wont go in a line)
- there is no group cap (that means you don't have to juggle between 12 unit max each groups)
- skills are now easier to use(you can select 3 casters and use the same spell on 3 different areas, the AI will do the rest)

You will need less APM(actions per minute for teh noobs), that way you can concentrate more in your strategy.

PSN = vic_haste

The AI should control shooting off these abilities if you want.

I don't want to learn a hot key for every unit
