I think you underestimate Europeans and their grasp of international politics. I wouldn't be surprised if Europeans know more about Obama that most Americans do. I think Obama embraces a lot of the political ideas he sees around the world, so a lot of foreigners understand his policies better than most Americans do, having experienced the benefits of their impact.

I honestly also do not know how Obama can mess up the USA more than it has been messed up in the last 8 years. To go from a nation that most people admired, to one most nations mock shows just how much impact one man can have on a whole society.

When all American tourists start saying they are from Canada, then you know something is going wrong. So just the fact that most American tourist no longer deny being from the states means Obama must be doing something right.

except thats not true at all.  most people disliked and still dislike the US.

Well this could end up resulting in a baseless pissfest. Anyone actually have numbers to back up what they say?

I like him. Not quite as much as during the elections, after which I realized the whole "just say hope and people will project their image of an ideal president onto you" trick, but he's still by far my favorite living non-European statesman. American politics always sound somehow alien to me, but he sounds like he's just an ocean away, rather than from a totally different planet like the republicans.

To be honest, a lot of the opposition against him sounds pretty silly to someone from Northern Europe. Most of the policies that he's enacting and some claim will inevitably result in economic ruin or some sort of bizarre communism-fascism are just baby steps in our direction, and we've been topping all the charts worth topping as for the past few decades. Ok, that's pretty simplistic, but my point is how rabid fear-mongering over clearly benevolent actions is never going to lead to anything. Acknowledging that the other guy isn't trying to destroy your way of life, even though you think he's wrong is, in my oppinion, one of the most important things in politics.

he's alright, could still be more liberal though imo

Dude what do you mean by word liberal?

Classic Liberalism?

Neo Liberalism?

Social Liberalism?

Liberal Conservatism?

Because for example Classic Liberals and neo liberals (like Friedman) would have nothing in common with obama because they want to decrease government involvment at all costs.
