I figured adding an Amiga reference was enough to make sure people knew I was being sarcastic... Maybe I needed a Commodore 64 reference in there to go with it.

I thought it was funny as hell.

I hate trolls.

square is stupid to bring anything to the 360, that system will fail terribly.

It seems to be doing pretty well in the largest market in the world and is treading water in the second largest.

Which, I might add, is more that can be said for the PS3.

Hey, if Leo says the 360 will fail, it must be so. He is VGC's Pachter, after all. Tell us your next famous prediction, Leo. Let me guess ... FFVII:CC on PSP to sell 10 million?

Exactly

The 360 may not have a big install base in Japan, but it would certainly offer FF13 the chance to do quite well in the US

I like Leo-J's theory the Wii will only sell as much as the GC did and the DS only as much as the GBA did.

Sign the Resident_Evil_5_Petition for a Wii release or Dark_Samus is going to come get you.

As other people said, this is old news. This article from March from this Xbox site says the same thing:

http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2007/03/22/ffxiii-not-exclusive-to-ps3-after-all/

The fact that he mentions that the White Knight Engine is multiplatform may mean something in the future, but the news itself is pretty old.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

How much has the GBA sold anyways?

And Leo's is shockingly not that bad of a theory but I suspect add another 10 - 20 million on top of each and it would be even more plausible.

Anyways, the White Engine's main platform is the PS3 no matter how you look at it. It will run better on the PS3.

I dont really see FFXIII or FFvXIII going to the 360, but the unannounced MMO will be PS3/360/PC with little doubt. Maybe the new MMO is a spin-off to FFXIII or even FFXIV.

I see nothing wrong in porting such big games. Good games cost money. As long as PS3 is the main platform Sony wins.

Square-Enix is in a really tough position. They've already sunk a ton of money on making this game for the PS3, but they won't have a very large installed base to sell to if they release it as a PS3 exclusive. Of course, if it stays exclusive, FFXIII will sell a lot of PS3s, but Square-Enix won't sell as many copies of FFXIII as it would selling a game to an installed base that is already large. As a PS3 exclusive, FFXIII would have to have above a 50% attach rate to match the success of its predecessors.

It would probably be pretty easy to release FFXIII on the 360, but that wouldn't help Square-Enix at all in Japan. To release it on the Wii they'd have to redo most of the game assets.

So Square-Enix has four options: release FFXIII as a PS3 exclusive and accept weak sales, release FFXIII for PS3 and 360 and accept weak sales in Japan, release FFXIII for the PS3 and Wii and accept the added cost of porting the game to the Wii, or cut FFXIII's budget and shift the funds to other titles in the Fabula Nova Crystallis fleet and declare that there is no main FFXIII and that the PS3 FFXIII isn't any more important than the other Fabula Nova Crystallis titles.

I don't think that Square-Enix is willing to accept weak sales in Japan for one of their flagship games. So I predict they'll either port it to the Wii or demote it from flagship status.
